Director’s Parent Letter: Week Ending with December 5th

Dear Parents:

On Friday, December 19th, WCM is delighted to host our annual Holiday Play and Cookie Swap at 10 am in Farishte’s classroom.  Our Primary Extended Day program students will perform; all parents are invited to attend.  The performance will conclude around 10:30.  After parents leave, all classrooms will participate in our holiday cookie swap.  Whether or not you are able to attend the play, we would be grateful if all WCM parents could bring a dozen cookies to school on December 19.  Please label the type of cookie, and if the cookies are nut-free, gluten-free, etc., please note on the label.

As winter weather has arrived, we wanted to remind you that WCM follows the Lexington City Schools protocol for delays or cancellations due to inclement weather. You can sign up for Lexington school closing alerts through alertrockbridge.com or listen to school closings on local radio station 96.7.

Here are a few volunteer projects if you are looking for ways to complete your required 6 hours of volunteer service for WCM this semester.  All hours need to be submitted to Misty by December 15.  Please remember that hours not completed are billed at a rate of $25.50 per hour.

Volunteer Projects

  • We would love to have parents help with raking leaves on campus which can be done anytime during the week or weekend.
  • We are looking for parents willing to help paint bookshelves in Kitty’s classroom either during the week in my office or over the weekend.

Important Dates

  • December 19: Primary Extended Day Play and Cookie Swap 10 am
  • December 22-January 2: No School

Warm wishes this holiday season,
