Director’s Parent Letter: Week Ending with November 21st

Dear Parents,

The Woods Creek Montessori community has much to be grateful for this Thanksgiving season.  I am most grateful for the support of the many hard working and talented individuals who make our school a special place.  Thank you parents, board of directors, teachers, staff and children.  Thanks also are due to the support and volunteers from our university communities.

We will celebrate our traditional Stone Soup luncheon on Tuesday, November 25.  The pre toddler and toddler classrooms will celebrate in their classrooms at WCM.  We typically do not include parents in the pre toddler and toddler Stone Soup celebration as we have found that children have a hard time at this age when parents visit their classroom.

For the primary classrooms, we will be hosting our traditional soup luncheon in the Marketplace of the W&L Elrod Commons at 10:30 am.  As the Marketplace is a new location for this luncheon, we would be grateful if you would help us watch the children if you plan to attend.  If you have not already, please RSVP and let us know if you plan to pick up your child from the Marketplace or if you plan to pick up your child at WCM. If you are planning to pick up your child from the Marketplace, please do not send in a lunch box or a backpack on Tuesday.

Important Dates:

  • November 25: Stone Soup celebration
  • November 25: 12:15 closing: If you need care beyond 12:15 this day, please complete form with Misty in the office.
  • November 26-28: Thanksgiving Break – no school
  • December 19: Primary Extended Day Play and Cookie Swap 10 am:  The Primary Extended Day children will host a play in Farishte’s classroom.  Primary Extended Day parents are welcome to join us for the program.  After the play, parents will leave and we will take the children to Kitty’s class for our traditional cookie swap.

May your Thanksgiving be the start of a wonderful holiday season!
