Samee Taylor

Samee Taylor and her husband, Mark, have lived in Rockbridge County with her husband Mark and their eight children since 2000. Samee has used her Family Science degree from BYU while she was home schooling her children, hosting four foreign exchange students, and providing emergency and respite foster care. Her family is also active in music and theater. Samee’s love for children led her to join the Woods Creek staff as an After School teacher.

Pre-Toddler Program

Rebekah Taylor
Rebekah Taylor

Rebekah Taylor is a Senior at Southern Virginia University, majoring in Liberal Arts. She loves music, theater, and literature and hopes to become a children’s librarian. Rebekah began working at Woods Creek Montessori during the summer of 2015 and has been an After School teacher since January 2016. She absolutely loves working at Woods Creek!

Kassidie Funk
Kassidie Funk

Kassidie has lived in Lexington for 15 years and graduated from Rockbridge County High School. She is currently a student at Virginia Western Community College pursuing a degree in engineering. In her free time she enjoys kayaking, shopping, and spending time with family and friends. She is very excited to be a part of Woods Creek Montessori!

Toddler Program

Michael Taylor
Michael Taylor

Michael Taylor has lived in Rockbridge County since 2000. He holds a BA from Southern Virginia University, where he studied music and philosophy. He plays viola and piano. He is the oldest of eight children, and loves working with students of all ages. He began work at Woods Creek Montessori as a substitute in 2013, and since then he has worked in the After School and Summer Camp programs. Michael is excited to work with the Toddler class this year.

Anna Taylor

Anna Taylor has always loved children. She has been part of the staff at WCM since 2016 as an after school and summer camp teacher. Anna is returning from a church mission where she spent 18 months teaching, participating in humanitarian aid, and sharing her talents in both English and Spanish. She is a double major at Southern Virginia University majoring in theatre and music. She sings, plays the piano, cello and harp as well as acts. Anna has a special interest in costume design. She is happy to be back at Woods Creek Montessori.

Primary Program

Alayna Brovont

Alayna is a recent graduate from Southern Virginia University where she studied Liberal Arts, Music, and Theater as well as taking education classes and getting her Elementary Education teaching license. Alayna has always loved children and is looking forward to spending the summer working at Woods Creek!

Elementary Program

Caroline Curry

Caroline Curry is a recent graduate from William & Mary with a BA in Elementary Education and Sociology. She holds a dual Virginia license in Elementary Teaching and Bilingual ESL Education. She loves walking her dog, finding new recipes, and exploring Lexington with her friends and family. In the fall, she will return to her hometown of Richmond, Virginia to teach in Chesterfield County Schools. She is passionate about early education and is excited to work at Woods Creek Montessori this summer.
