Dear Parents:
This week we welcomed a new school year with great energy and many smiles on our beautiful campus. Thanks to our dedicated teachers and staff and to all of you for making the first days of school run so smoothly.
A reminder for all, we begin the morning car pool line at 8:20 am and we conclude morning drop off at 8:45 am. If you arrive to campus after 8:45 am, please bring your child to the office and we will take your child to the classroom.
Washington and Lee provides a grant to Woods Creek which funds partial tuition waivers to eligible W&L families, the RATS transportation van (for our elementary after school students) and our extended care days. Throughout the school year, we offer five extended care days which provide extra school days (at no additional cost to parents) when the Lexington City School system is closed.
On Monday, September 7th (Labor Day), we have our first extended day on campus. If your child attends school on Mondays, you are welcome to bring your child to school on September 7th. All you have to do is to email Jess (jess@woodscreekmontessori.org) by September 1st to register your child/children.
Volunteer Projects
We ask that each family contribute 12 hours per year (6 per semester). We have a sampling of volunteer opportunities on our website. Please visit the following link to see available volunteer projects: http://woodscreekmontessori.org/parents/ (click on the green tab on right that says Sign Up for Volunteer Opportunities). Once you have completed hours, please email Jess (jess@woodscreekmontessori.org) as she will be recording parent volunteer hours.
These projects are by no means the only opportunities for volunteering at Woods Creek. If you have a talent or skill to share, please let me know, so we can involve you in our school.
