Director’s Parent Letter: Week Ending with September 18th

Dear Parents,

One of the many advantages of our campus location is its proximity to W&L and VMI. In addition to the convenience for our many faculty families, we benefit from having talented college students within walking distance. During the past year, we have increased our college student presence on campus — helping with facilities projects and, notably, in our classrooms. Thanks to our college student volunteers, we have three teachers in each classroom on many mornings, helping us to achieve an ideal teacher to student ratio. Furthermore, our students are delighted with these college mentors and it is obvious to me that the college students are meaningfully rewarded by the time they spend with your children.

Christa Bowden (mother of Asher Bowden) has designed our wonderful new school shirts! Students will wear these shirts on field trips and for our spring class photo. Although families are not required to buy shirts, I encourage you to consider one — they are an excellent design and a great way to show school spirit. Please visit the following link to place your order – purchases must be made by October 9th: https://www.customink.com/g/tss0-00a8-t4w0

Hope you all will join us on our Family Harvest Hike at Lake Robertson on Saturday, October 3rd. Please visit the following link to sign up for a dish to share for lunch. Please also let me know if you have a cooler with spigot that we can borrow to serve lemonade to the children. www.SignUpGenius.com/go/5080B4FA9A723A57-fall
