Dear Parents:
A founding principle of Woods Creek Montessori is our cooperative model: parents and teachers work together to support our children and the life of our school. Our campus itself is a product of this vital partnership. We ask parents to volunteer your time and talents to maintain and improve our facilities and to nurture our strong school community. We request that parents log 6 volunteer hours each semester (12 hours per academic year) with our office, unless you opted out through a fee prior to the start of the year. If you have not sent us your preference for a committee assignment, please do so this week. The following groups need new members:
- Repairs and Maintenance
- Construction, Campus Development and New Projects
- On-Call Adverse Weather
- Web Design and Maintenance Team
- Community Outreach Team
- Grants Team
This week, we sent home the Small Hands Montessori catalog. Please return any order from the Small Hands catalog by Wednesday, October 1st to be included in our group order (free shipping, no tax).
You also received information about the Kroger Plus Card for Education. Please scan the Kroger barcode the next time you shop at Kroger so we can receive free educational awards. All you have to do is scan the barcode once, directly after your Kroger Card, and you will link your Kroger Card to Woods Creek Montessori. Participating in this program costs you nothing, and does not take away from your fuel or store points.
Important Date:
- October 18: New Date for Fall Harvest Hike
Please do not hesitate to call me any time at school or on my cell phone (540) 416-3693 if you have any questions or concerns.
Many thanks for your support,
Caroline Russell
Interim Director, Woods Creek Montessori
