Dear Members of the Woods Creek Montessori Community,
Yesterday, Christi Crittenden resigned as Executive Director of Woods Creek Montessori, effective immediately. The Board is grateful for Christi’s service and leadership over the past five years. Christi’s accomplishments for Woods Creek Montessori are many. Under her leadership, the school consistently hired a strong teaching staff; conducted highly successful fundraisers and community events; established and expanded programs to address child-care issues for working families, such as our after-school program; and in recent years experienced an increase in the size of the student body. The Board greatly values Christi’s achievements and deeply appreciates her commitment to Woods Creek Montessori over these years.
The Board of Directors will meet soon to begin developing plans for an orderly transition process. As you know, Caroline Russell has already agreed to serve as Interim Director throughout the fall semester. With Caroline’s leadership and Misty Camden’s excellent support, the Board is confident that the school administration will continue to run smoothly as we enter this transition period, just as it has throughout the academic year. We do not expect this change to have any impact on the day-to-day work our dedicated teachers do to educate and care for your children.
The Board will keep the community apprised of our plans as we develop them. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact any member of the Board. Despite the difficult circumstances of the past few months, the school year has gotten off to an excellent start – this is a real testament to the talent and dedication of our faculty and staff, who are at the heart of the school. All of us at Woods Creek Montessori will continue to do our best to provide your children with a high-quality educational environment.
On behalf of the Board,
Jeffrey Rahl
President, Woods Creek Montessori Board of Directors
