Dear WCM Parents:
For ages, children have sat in a family member’s lap and dreamed: “when I grow up, I want to be a … (poet, astronaut, …).” As a Montessori parent, you have likely heard your child proclaim it this way: “when I grow up, I am GOING to be …”. The Montessori learning environment gives our children a space to dream, to develop confidence, and to find success.
We can support these aims by working to maintain our beautiful campus. This afternoon is our campus work day from 1 to 4 pm. We have about 11 W&L students and 8 WCM parents helping us with a variety of campus grounds projects. Come join us for any portion of this work day – we have lots of projects to accomplish (and some treats for the volunteers!).
Ready to Order?
Monday will be the last day we are collecting orders for the Small Hands catalog so please bring your order early next week if you would like to be included.
Next week, we will be sending home artwork your child made in their classrooms, along with a catalog of items. The Original Works company uses your child’s artwork to make a variety of items such as notecards and coffee mugs. If you are interested in purchasing any items, please send back your order form and artwork, along with a check made payable to Woods Creek Montessori, by Wednesday, October 15th. WCM receives a portion of the proceeds from any order!
Another Volunteer Opportunity:
We are looking for 3 or 4 parent volunteers to dress in old clothes and help the children tie dye WCM T Shirts one day during school towards the end of October. Please let me know if you are willing to help the children with this artful project.
Important Dates:
- October 4th: W&L and Parent Campus Work Day
- Week of October 6th: Original Works Art goes home to families
- October 9: School Picture Day — please pack extra smile in lunchbox 🙂
- October 15th: Due date for Original Works artwork and order form to our office
- October 18: Harvest Hike and Pumpkin Carving at the Tubb Family Farm from 11 am to 2 pm.
- October 21: Board Staff Meeting 6 pm
